Did anyone know that Garmin actually allows you to change the voice of the turn-by-turn assistance on your GARMIN GPS nuvi??

Well I didn’t. Until yesterday. And I am addicted to it… Like seriously.

Before this I have spent endless days telling everyone about how I would like to change the ‘Recalculating’ voice to something along the lines of ‘Are you stupid? Did I ask you to turn? Dang, now I have to recalculate!’ See how much more ‘appropriate’ that would be? I have put this in my brother’s unit and he was laughing so hard because the renditions from the set were exactly what I said when the GPS did.

Some of my colleagues on the other hand, got their little kids to do the renditions and it has provided hours of fun for the whole family in tow. Plus, the children learn more about how the GPS helps them in their day to day lives.

So go ahead and download this small little program, and get immersed in hours of hilarious fun for the whole family.

Unfortunately for the moment, this function is only available on Windows PC, but in the future, hopefully Garmin will develop a free application for MAC and Linux users as well. =)

Donation in Kind to Family Care

This year we were approached by several volunteer organizations in regards to donations for their delivery squads. Amongst these was Family Care. Mr. Peter Weston approached us requesting for two units of car navigation devices to aid them in their efforts to deliver donations to orphanages and rural areas in Malaysia.

For a long time AECO Technolgies (M) Sdn. Bhd. has tried to give back to the community, therefore once we heard the plight we promptly provided them with two units of nuvi 215 for their use. Hopefully with this with this it will help navigate them easily to their destinations without wasting time on the road.

2010.12.22 – Software update for nuvi 1350 and nuvi 1460

Latest software update version 2.80 for nuvi 1350 and nuvi 1460 is finally out. It should fix a lot of the problems with issues such as auto off.
